What the was the hotel's plan?

After rewatching the mini series I got to thinking, what was the hotel's plan if it managed to kill and absorb Danny and his power? I remember in the book there was a part when the hotel was thinking to it's self something along the lines of when spring opening crew arrives there going be in for a surprised. So it would have killed those people, well great then what? Take over Sidewinder? It doesn’t seem like the hotel hive mind thought things out much.

Interesting idea, do you remember the facility at the station of the bear in the Waste Lands? How it possesses Eddie for a moment before Roland gets him away from the door? That reminded me a lot of the way the Overlook affects Danny. At the very least it show that phenomenon like what is in the Hotel are VERY common in All World, or maybe the overlook is located in a weak spot of that level of the tower, allowing things to bleed through.

In the same way Patrick Danville had to be saved in Insomnia-higher purposes (or randoms) and "other worlds than these". Granted SK is more explicit in Insomnia-I seem to recall Roland turning over on his bed roll when the worst is over (which completely baffled me on my first reading as I hadn't read The Dark Tower at that point). So much in SK's canon becomes clearer on reading this (wonderful) series. The Dark Tower series is kinda like the Dark Tower itself-central.
