    My first SK book was On Writing, and that got me hooked. My next was The Green Mile. Can't remember if I saw the movie or read the book first.

    I also read The Green Mile in serial form. I still remember the wait between the volumes.
    As is the case for so many of us, Carrie was my first SK book in the summer of long ago.

    The best adaption of a King novel? Yeah I totally agree with you. Shawshanks pretty close as well.
