I have heard a lot of negative comments about the movie, how awful it was, and how big a disappointment it was. So I set off to read the novel. I would say in all that there are dramatic differences in some parts of the movie to the book, and that the book was much better. I really don't like Science Fiction all that much, but I found Dreamcatcher to be a really enjoyable read. It's funny reading a book before seeing the movie, or seeing the movie before you read the book, because once you do both your perspective on both changes a lot.
A particular thing that I did not like about the novel was the military aspect. I just don't enjoy novels about the military.
Overall, I would give Dreamcatcher a 8.8 out of ten.
Any thoughts on the differences between the novel and the movie? Feel free to give your own rating, too.![]()
