    Default Danse Macabre Challenge

So I took the ten novels he discussed in Danse Macabre, found them and read all of them. Wondering if anybody else has done this (knowing that most of these novels were pretty popular so most people have probably read at least some of them)and which one was their favorite. Mine was Richard Matheson's The Shrinking Man. By the way, well worth ones time it would be to read all ten of these discussed in the book if you haven't already.

    Tell God thankya

I don't recall the challenge, BachmanKing. The only (?) thing that made an impression on me what what SK said about humor/horror....Rosemary's Baby etc. But thanks for the heads-up...his other story recommendations have been just what I needed.

It wasn't really a challenge, just SK discussing ten novels that really had an impact on the horror genre, and also ten novels he strongly recommended people read who are a fan of the genre. Anyways, some of these books he talked about were incredible, some of the best books i've ever read.

I've read Danse Macabre many times, but can't remember all the books. could you list them here so I don't have to go look them up? (Yes, I'm feeling very very lazy.)

As a lad, I read many if not all of Ray Bradbury's works-and found them to be absolutely stellar-if you will...

Sadly I've only read 2 on this list. Think I'll try to get my hands on the others, and dig in. Except for The Exorcist. Nope, can't do it. I can't even watch the commercials for the movie when that damned thing is coming on. And is there a creepier song ever than Tubular Bells? Maybe I should change my username to ChickenSh*t.

Yeah, believe it or not the Novel was more wicked, or evil than the movie. I understand.

Absolutely, Matheson's was the best. have you read his new one, "Other Kingdoms"? He's still got it in his 80's.
