    Default Scott's death -

Hello all! Just finished reading this again - still loved it and still had a bit of a rough time getting into the groove of it - anyway, there is one thing I'm not quite sure about and that's Scott's death.......when Lisey tells him to go to the pool (on his deathbed), he says he can't because ol' freddy is lying across the path....but while he was there he ate the berries, which I thought is what made him sick....so I guess I'm confusing myself about why he went in the first place if he wasn't sick....and was it the berries that made him sick? Is everyone confused now?

    Thanks!!

Hi Sunny, what say? I had something typed up yesterday, but did not post. Maybe I hit post on this one? I figured someone could answer your question. I'm not qualified, I don't believe...memory and all.

When did Scott eat the berries? Was it after dark? And wasn't there some business w/things happening, you know, after dark? I don't recall, reason I ask. And too, I think I blocked it out of my memory what happened to Scott. Heh! Crazy, hey? I mean I read the story about 5 times, my copy is all marked up. It's nice to read a story like that once in a while, dontcha think?

Me, I had to figure the timeline, cause it shifts around some, seems like. Someone taught me to index what I read....this years ago, and that helps. They don't index novels, do they? You pick up some books, turn to the back, and look at the words they have there, say if there's an index. But not novels. Stories.

I guess that's the reader's job? They ought to provide more blank pages for that, you know? I keep most of them on sheets of paper and at times I've used a spiral notebook. Not like it's scientific at all, just something that helps me out.

So....did the berries make him sick? Well maybe it is a combination of things. Depending on when he ate the berries, but too, part of it is just going there, right? You have a place you like to go, say a place you've gone to more than once and once there, things seem to adjust? I dunno. Someone'll be along to answer I'm sure.
