I remember when "book club day" would come in elementary school-I could never wait for my name to be called to go up and get my little pile of new books!! Or the book mobile!! (Ok-now you know I'm older than dirt...) Then later, it was the other book clubs and the little thrill of getting a pkge of books, checking my order: yup, they're all here!!! Next arranging them in the order to be read-if a King was in the pile that was always last. (Best for last, you know) Now, I've never tried one of the e-reader thingies (I only JUST got a cell phone and we only have a DVD player because my fiance's son gave us one in disgust because Ed was watching his old biker movies on tape still) so I don't even know if I'd like one but I sure cherish those other experiences! Tangible books I can hold, have people say "I read that-isn't it great??", and put with my others by same author is my way to go!

Traditional book for me. Technology is good, but it's just not the same to me when it comes to my books.

hmmm this is a hard one for me.....i would only read real books before, but have recently purchased Everythings Eventual ebook for my ipad, it's actually ok. But if i was given a choice between the two though I think I would have to say real book. The smell and feel of a real book deffinately beats a 'virtual' one.

I like *real* books more because it makes me proud, sticking a bookmark in there and being able to see how far I've come along. With an eBook you get PG. 456/1023. That's just odd to me. Plus traditional books are more visually appealing. (Plus I like to brag and show off my expansive collection of books and how do you really do that with an eBook).

I love curling up in a chair, cup of tea by my side with a good book, can't see an e-reader having the same effect somehow, just seems so impersonal. I love the smell of books especially when they are new and have that fresh come and read me smell.

I got a Kindle for xmas and was at first dubious but my girlfriend insisted i would like it because of the software available to create a library on my PC. One of my hobbies is building and maintaining my extensive music library and i'm now starting an ebook library to sit along side it.

One thing that annoys me about the really big books is the weight of them and holding that weight for long stretches of time but the Kindle is a doddle to hold for hours and hours. So i would be happy to switch to an ereader if i was forced to

I borrowed a Nook from the high school library where I work. Read Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes on it. When I took it back, the 2 media specialists asked me how I liked it. I said it was okay, but I'd never read one of my King books on it. They wanted to know why, so I told them how I love the weight of a book, the feel of the pages, the smell of it....and you should have seen the looks I got! Holy cow! They looked at me like I was crazy!! They just couldn't see how I could prefer a real book over this new gadget...and they work in the library for Pete's sake!!! I don't get it...and then, of course, we also had to have the "YOU read Stephen King?!" conversation ...

Traditional, I like to feel the pages, and ebooks hurt my eyes, I´m 17 and every year I need new glasses, I guess I'll be blind by the time I finish reading all of SK books!

I love my Nook (never thought I'd hear those words come from me) but I'd choose real. No batteries to go dead, they'll last forever if you take good care of them.
If the Mayan's are right and the world as we know it ends this December I'm pretty sure my Nook would be useless after the battery dies! But I'll be able to rummage through the rubble and find real books to read. That's after I fight off the zombies and build my fortress to keep them out...
