Default Sir Gaunt and Lord Voldemort

    Hello everyone !

I am currently reading the Harry Potter series (and I've just started the last book so no spoilers, I don't want to know that Nagini eats them all at the end, which I've already guessed )

While reading book # 6, I noticed that Lord Voldemort's grandfather is called Mr Elvis... Gaunt.
Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I guess that Stephen King must have been pleased to read it, knowing that he mentions Harry Potter in Dark Tower 7.

Whatever - that breathtaking discovery made me think about references to King's characters other writers have made.
    Do you remember any ?

Good catch on the Gaunt thing! I missed that. It's entirely possible (even probable) that it is coincidence, but who knows. And you'll enjoy book seven.

As for other King mentions, I know that in an episode of "Friends", Joey's favourite book is The Shining, and he puts it in the freezer whenever it scares him enough.

I'm sure that Pennywise, or at least "that evil clown from It" has been mentioned several times, although I can't remember exactly where.

"The Simpsons" also takes a poke at Under the Dome in a recent episode, pointing out the superficially similar plotlines of it and The Simpsons movie. Furthermore, Sai King himself did a guest spot in the episode Insane Clown Poppy.

    Long days and pleasant nights.

Thanks for reminding me of that Friends episode, Aericanwizard, I saw it too and liked the reference
I've just finished HP 7 and the fact that the epilogue (a bit soppy, I thought, but I did enjoy the whole story) takes place 19 years later makes me think maybe it wasn't a coincidence after all !
