Thumbs up Ralph & Patrick just blew my mind. (DT-related)

I have read 31 sK books, but over the last few months I read Bag of Bones, DT7, & Insomnia, in that order, but with a few others in between. So first I encountered Ralph in Bag of Bones when he talks to Mike Noonan, and cSo then I read some more books, and finally DT7 and its mind-blowing ending, featuring Patrick's crucial part at the end...I knew Pat was from Insomnia but only because I had read that fact someplace. And of course there was the scene where Roland is actually given a copy of the book Insomnia! Needless to say I was very eager to get my hands on the book...Now I just finished Insomnia, and I was NOT disappointed. Imagine my grand surprise when I read the parts where Clothos & Lachesis begin to explain about the DT, and the Crimson King, and the fact that the docs say that the 2000+ lives did not matter, it was young 4-year old Pat that played a vital part in saving all the worlds along with the ka-tet.At any rate, I got the chills when young Patrick actually draws a picture of the Tower. And all you DT fans know what Patrick does to help Roland achieve his goals...So Insomnia, for me was a great prequel to the last of the DT series. And Patrick did his part at the end with such great ability, that when Ralph and Lois saved him (as a child) in Insomnia, I got goose bumps reading it...Trust me, if you'd read it in the way that I did, you woulda got gooseflesh and also have felt a little teary-eyed as you realize what an imprint this one child had on the entire multiverse.Pretty amazing. And boy do I wish that I had the kind of magical artistic talent he had.

I had a similar reaction to the scene in which Patrick draws the Dark Tower and tells his mom that the man in the picture is named Roland, and that he dreams about him. Great moment - and to think this was written so long before the final three books of the Dark Tower saga came out. I think that it suggests that King had more of an idea what direction the story was going in despite the characterization of him just knocking out the last three books for the sake of finishing.
