    Default My Favorite

I absolutely loved this book. I've read it four times, I have the paperback copy AND I downloaded the electronic version to my nook. I'm sure I will read it again, because I seem to be hooked on it. I did not realize that SK could make me cry until I read this book.

I didn't take Lisey and Scott's private language to be "baby-talk", as others here have called it. I found it beautiful that they would have their own words that were just between them. And I absolutely loved SOWISA. I've wanted to use it myself, but most people would have no clue what I was talking about, lol. I just whisper it to myself sometimes.

I want to make a trip to one of the book signings scheduled this fall, does anyone know if it's possible to get an older book signed at a new book signing, in addition to the new book? If so, I plan to buy a hardcover version of Lisey's Story to add to my collection and get it signed.

Sorry, but no, only 11/22/63 will be signed as the purpose of the tour is to promote that book and there's a limit of just that one book to a person for the events that are actual signings and not stage events.

This makes me sad. I really would like his signature on my all-time favorite book. Oh well, I will be happy to meet him, anyway!

I am so glad Liseys Story made someone else cry! I cried at the end of it the first time I read it, too. While I didn't cry again, I absolutely love the private language between them. Thats love, thats soul mates. Only someone married for a long time can understand that. I have been married 21 years next month and we have references and code words that mean squat to anyone but us. I also loved Liseys awkward sister. I have one of those, too. SOWISA is so good.

    Hi,

    Me too!

I was reading it on the bus and I collapsed in floods of tears and had to sit on the bus composing myself until it reached the terminus and turnerd around!

    VERY embarrassing!

Wondetrful book, and I found it HIGHLY cathartic personally.

    Long days and pleasant nights

I too have enjoyed this story, multiple times.

Did you notice, that when the SEALs went into get that rascal in Afghanistan, that one of their code words was Geronimo?

I thought that was pretty cool, Lisey's Story considered. I think that was the code word for bin Laden. They are big into code words, which too, is cool...like, Indian Valley for the Enterprise....say, other than the every day two letter call signs...if they still do that....sierra november, foxtrot whiskey....oh be a fine girl, kiss me.

My copy is all marked up. I especially liked Scott's story, about his old man, the way his old man got up off the couch and scissor walked across the floor. That was cool, hey? I mean, yeah, there I was. Heh! Only thing, he didn't have an axe, just a deer rifle. Sheesh. The things that happen, hey?

But for the "Mason Award" event, people can bring a different book, right?

That signing is not limited to just 11/22/63, correct?
