I'm half through Cell which I couldn't read all the way the first time around ( still struggling, but more interested), and I was impressed by all those references in music that SK mentionned in the story. All those were on my old 45 and 33 records. It means that SK and I were listenning to the same music at some time in the past. I still have Baby Elephant Walk by Lawrence Welk music makers the same applies to Calcutta, Everybody loves somebody sometimes by Dean Martin, Fly me the moon by Tom Jones, and of course You light up my life by Debbie Boone. It's funny, in my book some of the song ref are translated into french title, whick looks rather funny, and some others are displayed in english. Maybe the french translator could not find a way to translate a title song into french, like for exemple Beth Midler's Wind beneath the wings. That one would have looked completly weird. Baby Elephant Walk was one my favourite tunes as a youngster, and I have seen the movie with John Wayne in Africa in which we hear the tune. Loved it.![]()
