Default Never was a project so easy.

Thank you! I had to read, "On Writing" for a summer reading project, for College Composition. A very entertaining and interesting read. The only downside was having to stop reading, and work on the Dialectic Journal throughout the book. As an aspiring writer, i found your advice very helpful. After going through so much of my writing, I found that all your "don't" I've been doing excessively. I also was on a "no writing, and no reading" binge, and am happy to say i am once more fueled to write (and read).

Oh, I found my fossil the other night, while talking to my boyfriend. I even threw away the jackhammer to stop myself from pin pointing a plot. Really excited, and can't wait to see where my character and idea takes me! Thanks Mr.King!

It was a nice moment for me when I read his thoughts on the idea of plotting out a story. What little writing I had done, I had always had difficulty determining the framework for a story before I had written it. From all the various classes and workshops I had attended, I always thought there was something wrong with me - like I should be able to outline the story before I write it but it always felt so forced and artificial for me to write that way. Reading King's work here made me feel more justified in my approach. Not to say that outlining is wrong - it's just not something that works for me. I loved this book and it always revs up my engine when it comes to my desire to write myself.

If you get a chance, check out Elmore Leonard's 10 Rules for Writers....could be I'm wrong on the title....10-something...but it is short sweet and to the point...and the drawings are a hoot.
