Default Justin Timberlake, Hollywood? Why not?

I think it is a bad idea to make Insomnia a movie.

First they will flush out all the Dark Tower references. Think Hearts in Atlantis/Low Men.

Second, they will take out all the Nastiness. Think Apt Pupil.

Third, they will make the caracters young and atractive. Think Dolan's Cadillac. All this talk about Paul Newman to play Ralph Roberts. The part would probably go to Justin Timberlake.

In the end, your theatrical cut will have very little in common with the novel. Some books just shouldn't be made into movies.

Although I disagree with GNTLGNT on his Kubrick reference, I agree with garyqak on the intances he mentioned. Paul Newman was the only Hollywood type to have done justice to the role, so PLEASE leave it alone

Sorry, I admire other of Kubrick's works immensely, but for me-his adaptation of Shining didn't get it done...

Kubrick had many strong suits - but working from source material was not one of them in my humble view. Full Metal Jacket was based on a novel and my understanding is that about one scene from the book actually made it on to screen.

I disagree, since Clint Eastwood is too old to play Roland I think he could be a great Ralph.
