Cool thread ! I also vote for the Shining, but I've got to post this one ; both the song and the movie are great !
The Halloween Theme is very effective. Carpenter - affectionately known in my circle as "One-Note Johnny"- uses a minimalist style that really suits his directing style. Proof that you don't need an entire orchestra to score a film.
Not a movie, but my favorite TV horror theme:
The treasure of a life is a measure of love and respect/The way you live, the gifts that you give/In the fullness of time/It's the only return that you expect

The original Amityville Horror film theme is creepy, those kids singing softly and melodically sinister is real cool,
Friday the 13th has undeniably one of the most popular scare themes with that strange killer chant, Part 3-D had a dance beat added to give the music a third dimension as well,
And no list is complete without "The Ballad of Harry Warden" from My Bloody Valentine,
How could anybody forget Maximum Overdrive and AC/DC?
Money Man II: You are an..
Stephen King: Honey, come over here sugarbuns, this machine just called me an....
Now I would also like to add to my list the soundtrack from Mirrors, really love this music:
