"N" - who was the owner of the field?

This was the thought that kept running through my mind whilst reading the story, but none of the characters seemed interested in finding out. Does anyone have any thoughts about the owner, who s/he may be and what their role was in looking after the field themselves?

Yeah, he recycles names from time to time-and I like how family names are carried from novel to novel, because so many were set in Castle Rock-he'd mention a
last name-and you'd almost automatically know their backstory and who they were...
