Default quick question about mr. king's cameo on the book

Evening All, first time im posting here and im about to start the Dark Tower VII. i been wondering two things about Mr. King apparition on the Dark Tower.

First: what made him come to the desition of appearing on the saga? (im curious to know how did he came to that desition)
i hope Mr King can read this maybe silly question
Second: was too difficult to writte your own dialog and make it seem authentic?

thank you all for your time and please forgive my bad english.

    Welcome, Crowley.

Just so you know, SK doesn't respond directly to questions here. Trust me, if he did, I'd have a list as long as my arm. I don't know that he's talked about writing the DT dialogue in interviews. I'm trying to do some searching around for interviews that might answer your questions for you.

It seems to me that in an afterword to one of the books that it was essentially the only thing he felt he could do -- that it was the way the story was inexorably leading him. Keep in mind, that SK is not much on outlining, at least according to one book on him. It's Tabby who is the book outliner.

While I cannot pretend to know Sai King's mind, I suspect the story decided for him and not the other way around. While Stephen King is a long way from dead and we will have a good 10-20 more books out of him at least if his pace stays the same, The Dark Tower is a magnum opus of a sort. It has been part of his life for a long, long time. As an author, he says he believes he doesn't so much write the story as reveals it, like a dinosaur from the stone. He isn't 100% in the driver's seat so to speak. He shares this odd perspective with Howard (of Conan fame) who saw himself as channeling the story from somewhere else, as if the Cimmerian was standing behind him and dictating his memoirs.

All the above being said (and you will have to decide where hyperbole begins), it would have to be stated that he didn't make a conscience choice to do it. His being in the story was obvious, an unavoidable destiny. It simply revealed itself to him at the correct time. All things serve the beam, and thus, all things serve the Dark Tower. I don't want to get too metaphysical here. It is simply a matter of approach. There are authors who try to plot everything out in advance, setting up their tales like tinker toys. After they skeleton is created they try to fill in the connecting tissue. The Dark Tower wasn't written that way, so when and why the author decided to put himself in the book would be impossible to say, but I expect it came as a surprise to him at whatever point the notion appeared.

A 2004 USA Today article quotes King as saying "I knew I was going to be a character in The Dark Tower books as early as Book 3 (The Waste Lands) when I realized a lot of the other books were draining into The Dark Tower story, and that since I was their creator, there must be a reason for that."

...or, "it seemed like a good idea at the time!"...

As far as I'm concerned, his appearance is the most logical explanation as to why characters from other King novels keep appearing throughout the Dark Tower saga.
