    Default Novels

    Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but I was wondering if anyone can tell me which of Stephen King's novels are more "normal", such as 'The Shawshank Redemption', 'The Green Mile' and 'The Body' ('Stand By Me'), if there are any.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Welcome to the MB,and keep posting!

I'm guessing that you mean non-supernatural?

Try the Bachman books. And Misery.

IMO nothing SK writes is normal if I am understanding the correct definition of normal. All of his stories have a magical aspect to them, magical in the sense that they pull you in and never let you go.

If you are looking for a read that doesn't have much of a supernatural/horror tone to it you could try Misery, Delores Claiborne or Cujo, all three are really good stories.

"Normal", to coin a phrase-is in the "eye and mind of the reader"....what seems normal to you, may seem like alien bat shite to me, but those that you mentione would do-so would the novella The Body or the non-fiction book Faithful to name but two others...

Normal? They all seem so normal to me. Maybe just a matter of perspective. I believe many of the SKMBer's are not normal and therefore have no baseline to judge this question on..

@Jb93, you can also work your way through the Library section of this site and read the plot summaries there.
