    I really loved the movie and the book. Thought Busey made a great uncle. I would have loved an uncle like him when I was younger.

    had never heard of this book until i saw all the great reviews - just got my copy through the post and about to devour it.

    but i cannot find any sign of the film at all ??

    The title was changed to Silver Bullet for the movie adaptation.

    just finished the novel. a bit shorter than i thought it would be but all the same it is superb.
    the illustrations are excellent - worth the money alone.

    Yes...I liked the January through December timeline...Michael Perry wrote a non-fiction piece called, Truck, A Love Story that takes that same January through December tool to tell a story about a truck and about falling in love.
