I recently reread The Dark Half for the first time in a decade or so. It had never been one of my favorite King novels (and still isn't), but I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to. Previously, the premise -- a pseudonym coming to life -- just seemed too silly for me to get into at all, but this time, for whatever reason, I was able to roll with a lot better.

I also noticed that it forms a forms an interesting thematic trilogy with Misery and The Tommyknockers.

I've been reading in Shivers VI, from Cemetery Dance, and there's a story in that one (it is a collection) called "Ghost Writer in my Eye" by Wayne Allen Sallee....that seems to have some of the same kind of thingies going for it. Check out Umney's Last Case, too, if you haven't already.

Reading The Dark Half, or any King story for that matter, is easier/better/nicer/gooder....heh! when you meet characters from other stories. Reminds me of that happy camper I passed on the highway the other day. Makes you wonder.

I finally finished reading The Dark Half, and I totally loved it. That's definitely gonna be on my list of favorite SK books. The only thing I didn't really like was the ending, because it was not unexpected to me, I thought it would be more of a surprise for me. But, anyway, it was great, the book is awesome, and it's amazing that Stephen King managed to make such a great story out of his own experience.
