I voted for Caviezel (I'm the only one, apparently), because I couldn't think of anyone else better. Hugh Laurie is an interesting choice, but I think his voice is just wrong for the part. Kinda like Edward Norton, in that while he's one of the best actors around, he's not right for this part (and I really can't picture Bardem or Mortensen in it, either). I tend to think a talented unknown would be the way to go. Someone not too young, and also not too handsome.

I think Liam Neeson would be a good choice. Also the main character from the show "jericho" i think would also be a decent fit...would fit the 'relatively unknown' role in Skeet Ulrich

I already replied to the poll question, but after thinking about it for a while, I would agree with you Randall. I think a problem with the well-knowns, for me anyways, is that I would be thinking of them in other roles. It would be to "movie-ish" for me, if that makes sense LOL
