Who do you think played their role the best in Carrie?

I have seen a lot of people talking about Piper Laurie and Siisy Spacek playing their parts the best. I totally agree with you guys about that. How about the other Characters Such as Sue Snell, Tommy Ross, Billy Nolan, Chris Hargensen etc. I want you guys to tell me who played their part the best. (besides Sissy Spacek's And Piper Laurie's role)The question is: Who played their role the best?

Sissey Spacek as Carrie was the best actor. But I also like Piper Laurie she played very good as Carrie's mother.

The actors that played Sue Snell (Amy Irving who later went on to marry Steve Speilberg) and Tommy Ross (William Katts?? who later went on to play in a series that I think was called American Hero or something like that) did excellant jobs in their roles, you really felt that they were trying to make a difference in Carrie's life. The role of the gym teacher was really heart-felt too. Actually, I think they had perfect casting in this movie as everyone, big parts and little parts, were excellant. Although for me John Travolta brought alittle too much 'Vinnie Barbarino' to his part.

In my opinion I think that Amy Irving(Sue Snell) played her part really well. She was good while Ms. Collins was in the gym giving them their punishment against Carrie. Sue actually looked really guilty of what she did. Also. William Katt(Tommy Ross) played his part well too. He was good at pretending to like Carrie at the prom. I actually don't know if he started to like her or not. I really couldn't tell, that was how well he was acting his role. Those were the best 2 roles(besides Sissy Spacek's and piper Laurie's roles of course.)

Im watching Carrie now gonna do a compare n contrast of the rig and the remake.anyhoo the part were the gym teacher is making the girls do calistentics, why was the girl with the red cap had on different shorts than the rest of the girls?
OT: John Travolta was too fine in this movie (Tommy Ross wasn't too shabby either)

He DID begin to like her and to see that Carrie was a real and loving person. That's what makes it such a tragic story! Have you read the book? If not, I suggest you do, you will take away alot from it.

Ok, I posted that before I read the book now that I know he was beginning to like her... I understand it better now. I completely agree with you it was very tragic. I also feel very sympathetic for Sue Snell because her boyfriend(Tommy Ross) was burned to death at the end of the movie. We both know what happens in the book. The first time I saw Carrie(from beginning to end), I have to admit I almost cried because it saddened me that much. Still, it has to rank as one of my all time favourites.
