I really enjoyed this book...It wasn't quite as epic as The Talisman, but SK's character's were very vivid. I liked the contradiction of the Thunder Five....the whole idea of these, sort of, warrior poets made them stand out...but it is an old idea that has always worked (See Braveheart)...I liked Henry Leyden as the counterpoint to Jack and kind of saw him reincarnated again, in Duma Key, as Wireman...The character that stood out the most to me was Charles (Burn Burn) Burnside...SK has had some bad characters in his work, but he took it to another level with his willingness to write about the details of what he did to the kids...VERY disturbing. There were a lot of connections to the DT series but then were left out of the series itself (so far)Not nearly as good as the Talisman, but that is like saying Prime Rib isn't nearly as good as Filet Mignon.
P.S. Just for you JD![]()
