    Default ssdd >.<

I'm about a third of the way through Dreamcatcher, and tbh, I thought it was going to be really rubbish.

When I started getting into it a bit, I thought "Oh jees, a flaming ALIEN story - thats gonna be terrible!" But as i'm reading it now, ITS SO GOOD! I actually felt sick when Beave got attacked by the thing in the toilet - jees I almost put it down because it was so disgusting!

I love how vivid Kind writes, I love that he uses past and present so seamlessly, I can write, but I wish I could write as well as he does! I don't know what I'm going to read when I've finished it though. I have whole shelves of King...

I was into Dreamcatcher right off the bat. The Colorado Kid now is causing me to pull my hair out-its an accent thang going on thats causing me to stutter and stumble along. I just keep telling myself it'll get better just get past this glitch. It IS all in my head, but its frustrating for me. I havent read (or dont remember) Geralds Game either- gonna have to look for it. Mostly today I'm distracted by that tragic EQ in Japan....

It's a weird book, but a strange kind of masterpiece all the same.

No other author could've pulled something like this off.

I really enjoyed this story, and when the story would revert back to the childhood of the characters, it brought memories of other novels such as "IT" and "Stand by Me". I really like Sci Fi and Alien stories so when SK was releasing this novel I was really excited and it didnt dissapoint.

Just finished Dreamcatcher for the third time. I have to say third times the charm. Like a previous SKMBer, at fiers I thought NOT ALIENS, then I got into the characters and how what happened to them as kids made them the adults they are. How is that different from any of us? It also helped me to appreciate IT, a book I still can't call a favorite, but I get the point now. All in all very much enjoyed this trip through.
