Is WB still planning on remaking The Stand?
I read recently, they are. Big mistake for the big screen, I think. Who can possibly sit for 8 hours in a theatre?![]()

We're not in the loop on that one so not sure what the current status is.
I would love to see The Talisman on any screen. Totally off topic, but there it is.
I saw, via the internet, Mr. King talking about a remake. Ms. Mod, I know you kind of answered the question before, but it there any truth to that? I personally LOVED the miniseries....so much so that I can recite the entire movie...verbatim. (That's sad).![]()
Yes, Warner Bros. does have plans for a remake but I don't know where they are in the production process.
YAY!![]()

Once you eat a large buttered movie popcorn and a cold water...movement becomes non-existent, thereby making an 8 hour "pennywise binge" doable...![]()
I would so, so love to see this remade, and remade with all the utmost tender love and warm fuzzy affections for the novel as possible. While the miniseries was ok, to me it was dated and more than a bit cheesy and just didn't do justice to the awesomeness of the novel... But if they're just going to butcher it, and cut half of the story out and ruin the other half, then no-thanks, I guess I'll stick with Molly lol
Actually, I would sit there for 8 hours, if it were well done. I never liked the TV version much, compared to the book (tho I watch it ever dang single time it's on...) so—yes, I hope there is a remake, and I hope I love it and adore it, and want to buy it on DVD!
It's a book that just never grows old for me. I may need to wait a year or two, but by then, I'm all revved up and ready for it again. Under the Dome was good, and entertained me in a similar way...But nothing is like The Stand.
My first post. I wonder if it will be deleted. Don't quite get the techniques around here yet.
I didn't like the mini-series, but in matters like this I am a hypocrite because I will watch the mini-series if it was on. I noticed that was Stephen King's longest cameo of all the movies that he has been in. I'd really like to see a remake. Major motion pictures have that reality of people cursing that made for television movies don't have, also the gore factor; though there really isn't that much gore in "The Stand".
Gooo remake!
