    Default Enjoyed Blaze's writing style

It was indeed a flat, tightly written book, but one which did not sacrifice the depth and detail needed to really get into the book. I hope to write like that myself, and even with the odd flaw or rough patch in the novel, it went along smoothly. The rhythm of the book, in a free indirect style mimicking Blaze's own voice, worked perfectly so when the narrative left the current events with Blaze - to flashbacks, the cops, whatever - it worked easily.

    Hi,

Yes indeed, at first I didn't like the terse, tight nature of the language but by the end of Blaze I was in awe of the fact that Sai King makes us sympathetic to Blaze, who would appear a heartless monster if you saw it on the TV news.

And he achieved that with such economy of language too!

    Long days and pleasant nights
