I loved King's article on the "Blood's A Rover" by James Ellroy and read by Craig Wasson. I fully agree it's one of the very best audiobooks I've ever heard, as is the previous volume in the trilogy, "The Cold Six Thousand", also read by Wasson.
Since then, Wasson has read King's "Blockade Billy" and portions of "Full Dark No Stars", also excellently.
Since King loves Wasson's performances and now has a working relationship with him, and is an all-around mover and shaker in the literary world, I'm wondering what he could do to advance the idea of Wasson performing the first volume of Ellroy's Underworld USA trilogy, "American Tabloid". I don't mean to say anything negative about the narrator of the audiobook for the novel (available only in the library edition and hard to find even there) Michael Pritchard, he's a talented narrator, but Wasson so fully "gets" the Ellroy style that, to me, Pritchard's performance is sorely lacking.
I would absolutely love to have all three Underworld audiobooks with Wasson narrating, it'd be perfect. Does anyone have any idea if this can happen or is happening, and if it's possible but not scheduled how it can be made to come about?
