    Default it grows on you

This is a story about some old cronies just talking about a house. It was easy enough to read but seemed like a kind of non-story somehow. The main plot points seemed to be the impending demise of castlerock, the house being cursed and the perverted girl who lived there.

I read somewhere this was meant to be like an epilogue to needful things. But other than being set in he same town I don't see any strong connection.

Does anyone have any thoughts in this story? Did i miss some deeper meaning?

Variation on the haunted house theme, I take it. Brings to mind the description of the house in Shirley Jackson's story...reminds me of...the Winchester house, I think it is...some real place where the owner kept adding on and adding on...staircases going nowhere. I have fantasies of coming across a customer like this--I'm a carpenter and work is slow winter. Too, the story reminds me of others from King, "Grey Matter" for one..."Rainy Season" (if I have that right) and the other in this collection, "The House on Maple Street".
