I thought of this while discussing Mr. Owen King so I thought I'd start a new thread.
I have never written a book (well, one that got published!) but I can only imagine how difficult it must be to decide whom to dedicate it to.
I had an extremely small wedding. It was a nightmare of hurt feelings on the part of people I couldn't invite, even though I TRIED to explain it to them.
I can only imagine how much worse it is when you have to dedicate a book.
I was once thanked on liner notes of an album from one of my favorite bands and I just about died. It's an amazing feeling. I couldn't imagine how it would feel to have an ENTIRE book dedicated to you.
Maybe writers just have a huge list of people they want to thank. Maybe that's why Mr. King has written so many books - to make sure everyone gets a dedication!
Anyway, I'm rambling but this is seriously some big pressure. Thoughts?
