I wasn't a toddler, but I was there, too. Phyllis Schlafly wasn't among my heroes or persons to emulate. One would think the 14th Amendment should provide protection but it's all in the interpretation of intent of the Amendment. That's why nomination of Supreme Court justices is such a big deal and one that people should pay attention to. Their personal views, in spite of protests that it won't affect rulings, do IMO factor into their decisions.

I am so ticked off because I just saw a news report that the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation is suing every other group who uses the words "for the cure" in their names or promotions. It will cost 1 million dollars to do so, and they are using donated money to pursue the lawsuit.

Et tu, Susan G. Komen, Inc.? Greed has gotten to you too? Aren't all the groups who use that wanting the same thing? Isn't the goal to cure cancer? Isn't all the money raised "For The Cure" a good thing? Can't you be proud that you started a movement where money raised will go for research and not lawsuits?

I can understand if this was Del Monte's slogan being used, or the Jolly Green Giant--but this is a fund raising situation wanting a CURE. Can't you just embrace that? But, it comes down to profits. Everyone has to get their hands greased, right Susan G. Komen, Inc.? What kind of bonuses are you giving your C.E.O.'s that you have to make sure every single dime goes to your coffers? Gah! I'm so angry. Don't use donations for your greed.

Who's the real boobs in this situation?

That is such a slap in the face to the cancer survivors and those who promote the cause...There I said it.

Most of today was spent travelling to Glasgow, so we could learn how to write a letter in German... I'm not even kidding.
This required spending 5 hours on a bus with the most irritating guy in the history of the world. I try to see the good in everyone, but boy, is he a challenge.
I could stand it last year when he told us he wasn't actually 15, he was a 30 year old undercover spy. I could stand it when he wore a wedding ring for 4 months, claiming he was married to his parole officer. Ditto when he made up a girlfriend, and a fake facebook page for her. When he got a real girlfried, and slagged her off to the whole class, he became even less enchanting. The day he told us he was an amazing musician, and he knew because Jimi Hendrix had told him so what mildly annoying (considering Hendrix died 24 years before he was born)

But today, when he claimed to be an expert on all music and told us that Wikipedia reference-linkhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_%28musician%29" target="new">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_%28musician%29 was actually in his late seventies... I had to intervene

So, maybe Robert Smith form the band " The Cure " should sue Susan G. Komen.

Thanks to single digit temps, the water main broke. So not only do we not have water for little things like coffee or bathing, there is a pond that is frozen over on our street. Good thing we all love bumper cars!

... because Sarah Palin, on the day of the memorial for the victims in Arizona, tried to make it all about HER.
