I could be wrong so correct me if i am. The Green Mile was set in Mississippi. I have heard that the green mile is in parchment(a prison in ms).

It's definitely set in the South but I always thought the specific state was not named and that it was purposely ambiguous. It's been quite a while since I read it so I may not be remembering that it gave the location.

And home of annual The BB King Festival, and where that other most talented Mr. King learned to enjoy & make his deeelicious mighty fine Gumbo and snappy jalapeno corn muffins, that he serves up at his joint in Memphis...big kudos & props for Indianola Mississippi!
Been there just once, piddle fartin' around off from driving the Natchez Trace National Park Parkway (great drive!), so I ain't made the festival , yet, but I will I will one day you just betcha I will.
