So I finished Dolores Claiborne on Thursday night; took me nearly 4 weeks to read it (shocking, I know - after all, it's only 300 pages long!), but it took me a little while to actually get into the story.
I did enjoy it, but felt the pace didn't really pick up until after Dolores
I liked the link with Gerald's Game especially since that was what I read before I started this one.
I really liked Vera, and was completely surprised at the end
One niggle I had (being from Scotland) was the way Sai King had written some of Macauliffe's words - I couldn't help but think he'd written it the way people think Scots sound, and not how we actually sound! (Although I suppose everyone does it!)
Anyone else find the story a bit slow to get going, or just me?![]()
