When I first read this book, I remember having a discussion with some friends, and someone suggested at the time that they thought it was possible that King's wife, Tabitha, had actually written this novel. I remember thinking to myself that it was an interesting idea. The story definitely had the feel of an SK novel, and was well written as well (although Tabitha King is a published author herself, so that isn't really a surprise) but it did seem to have something different about it that I could never really put my finger on. Maybe it was the fact that it seemed very insightful of the female mind and way of thinking. Maybe it was simply because it didn't have that same sense of Supernatural that the majority of SK's works had up until then. (Looking back, Misery didn't have that either, and I have no doubts that one is an SK brainchild!) Delores Claiborne seemed to reinforce that possibility when it came out as well, but also made me wonder if I wasn't being a little chauvanistic simply because the main characters were women.
Anyway, I was just curious as to anyone else's thoughts on this subject. Regardless, I definitely think that Tabitha King must have had a lot of input into those two novels.

Editors also make specific suggestions to authors about things that should be added or changed and when that happens and Steve agrees with their reasoning, he'll make the changes but it's still him that is doing the revision.
