Default I love to reread books

People ask me why, and I ask why do they watch movies more than once. I have read all of Stephen King's books at least twice, except Pet Sematary. Can't do it. It's scary in the way a childhood nightmare or fear is scary, and I just can't enter that world a second time. Some fears you keep with you always, mine are open closets in the dark, and Pet Sematary.

Constant reader and constant re reader. Have taken the journey of the Dark Tower many times. Planning a re read of Sai King's newest book- FDNS this weekend. Feel the same about Pet Sematary. It left an impression for a lifetime, can't re read it either.

Re-reading books is like saying hello to an old friend you haven't seen in a while....While it's familiar, there are little details that you have forgotten, that are a pleasant surprise all over again! Welcome to the board and happy posting!

    Hi,

I completely agree with you, and I understand perfectly about Pet Semetary ('Darling', it said').

Like no other writer in history (IMO) Sai King's work (especially Dark Tower) benefits from re-reading, it's almost too complex to absorb on a first reading.

In fact, I'm already re-reading FDNS (finished '1922' last night - *shivers*)

    Long days and pleasant nights

I agree! I have read all of King's books several times. It seems like the first read is too fast, I'm so eager for the story to unroll so I zip through it and miss so much. You're not alone, I have to make sure all closets in the house are shut all the way, no cracks, before I can sleep.

Often read again "Shine," "Pet Sematary" and "Destiny of Jerusalem."

I knows how dat feels...some of the journey's and "re-visits" ARE painful, but I'm masochistic enough to just keep doin' it...

To re-read a book is great and especially if it's King book. I plan to re-read On Writing soon.

I have re-read few books before, but PET SEMETARY was definitely one of them! As well as STAND, ROADWORK, LONG WALKER, RUNNING MAN, SHINING and MISERY!

Thankee, Sai, for the insight. I haven't reread any sK yet, but I can tell first-reading that rereading would be at least as good.
