I finished it a while back and it all came together nicely in the end.
I liked Walken in the movie personally but agree it would have made better sense with his mother's religious fervour written in.

Herb and Vera seemed a bit too old, but the actress who played Vera was good I thought... although they left out her religious mania stuff, only hinted at it. In fact they left out a lot of cool stuff that made the book so great. one plus though is for the actor who played Greg Stillson - spot on! imo.

All accounted for I'd love to see this remade for the modern day audience with more content from the book
Interesting you should say that - one thing that struck me throughout this book was that, for their ages, the older characters were made a bit too old. When Johnny came out of the coma, his dad was only 55 or 56, yet he was depicted as almost decrepit. And his Mum at a bit younger was made out, I felt, to be much older. The only bit that irritated me, mid 50s is not old! I've noticed this in a couple of his other books too.
