Questions on Needful Things

Hey there,


Couple of questions, first one could be deemed quite silly so i'll get that one out of the way first.

Who is the "Voice" at the beginning? You know the one that invites us over to sit with him and he talks us through the town. He could, of course, just serve that purpose and only exist to get the story going.

But I was wondering if he was a character from another book (maybe not a major one)? Or to take it to extremes, maybe SK himself

Second Question: As I love this book and wouldnt mind if it went on for quite awhile longer, I was wondering if any of you thought (like me) that there was potential for some more story regarding Brian Rusks crush on Sally Ratcliffe. The first time I read the book (I've just read it for a 3rd, via audiobook) i was sure that his crush was leading somewhere....

The narrator remains nameless as far as I recall. Just a way Sai King has of introducing the characters, telling you a little about them and also that this book has a connection to the other Castle Rock stories.

IMO did not feel more was needed with the Brian- Sally storyline.

I was wondering what you thought of the audiobook. I have never read Needful Things, I have just listened to it via audiobook. I thought the story was great, but the background music was awful!!! It would often come out of nowhere and scare me more than the story! Also, I thought I would enjoy SK reading it, but I almost found his voice to be annoying too. What's your opinion?
