Default Giving it a second go

I read...or rather, tried to read, Dreamcatcher when I was in high school and found that I didn't really understand it. It was very...crazy? I'm not sure how to describe it. But it was the only one of his books that I stopped reading halfway through. Now I'm giving it a second try, hoping it turns out much better than the first time. Did anyone else find this book confusing? Or was it just me?

Some readers have to make more than one go at a given sK title, it seems. I put The Colorado Kid and The Eyes of the Dragon down after their respective first pages. In my case, the subject matter didn't attract me initially (I've read both of them since, and was not disappointed). I think sometimes we must do a little searching for the right title, a little trial and error.

I say this due to my own experience in not being disappointed. I say choose some other title(s) now, then return to Dreamcatcher for another go. Meanwhile, I'm curious--did you see the movie, and if so, was it before you tried the book?

It IS a bit tough to wrap your (Mr.)gray matter around, but keep after it and it'll eventually come clear to you...I think the third time through did it for me(just to make sure my first two impressions stayed the same)...

I just finished it, but I remember putting it down the first time I tried reading it a couple years ago. I think part of the problem is that the back of the book mentions them saving a boy with Downs and that doesn't happen until a couple hundred pages in...
