Default Okay I have a few questions...

I'm new to the series and I get confused easily haha.

Question 1: Can someone explain to me Discordia and the Prim?

Question 2: How did Mia get in Susannah? I understand everything about Mia except this. I understand the whole thing between Susannah and Roland and the demon, but Mia has nothing to do with that right?

Question 3: When did they first mention 19? I've been reading them back to back and all of a sudden they all started talking about it in Wolves. I don't remember it before then.

    Please help me haha

May I suggest Stephen King's the Dark Tower Concordance by Robin Furth, and The Road to the Dark Rower by Bev Vincent. Both will contain detailed information on your questions.

Why can't anyone just be helpful instead of pushing someone to spend money they might not have?
I'm sure Robin & Co. are doing well enough to part with a few details, the guy probably already spent near a hundred dollars on the 7 part saga, might not want or be able to justify an extra 20-30 dollars to disambiguate the material.

No need to spend money- visit your local library. The referral to this book was made so that you might be able to have not only the questions asked answered, but many future ones too. There is a wealth of information in these books. The explanations you desire are detailed and intertwine, thus referral an expert on the subject matter.

Granted, the information is in the actual books if we read carefully enough, right?

Here is an example of a thread starter, the member is NOT being disrespectful, and yet other than directing him to the library...why bother coming here? Right? Which, apparently, the member has not returned. Pourquoi pas?

I totally agree... if the answers are available in the DT books and someone is just looking for clarification or reinforcement, its always more helpful to receive the answer here rather than (or at least in addition to) referring one somewhere else

as to question 2 of the original post - I believe Mia entered Susannah/Detta/Odetta at some time when Odetta allowed her to, perhaps unknowingly... Susannah makes a reference to this in a passing thought at the end of SOS

as to question 3 of the original post - i believe 19 might have been mentioned once or twice in passing in books 1 thru 4, but not with much fanfare or significance until Wolves. only in Wolves did 19 seem to take on greater meaning

as to question 1 - I too wish i could get a better understanding of the Prim, Discordia, Gan, the White, etc. In the mean time...
    • I believe Gan is the creator. the closest to a positive deity. SK mentions him as coming from Hindu beliefs in the Coda at the end of SOS. my impression is that Gan doesn't really care about things at our level of existence, but if we invoke faith or believe in him/her/it via the White that maybe we can touch on an ancient power
    • the White is the warrior of Gan, or the ambassador of good. perhaps even just the presence of anyone or anything who would enforce good. maybe my understanding is too abstract, but I'm thinking of anything from faith, to a holy artifact, to a holy spirit, to an "angel of Gan", to a warrior for justice... tangible and intangible things alike
    • Discordia is the absence of good. chaos. the shadows where the light is not. abandon all hope, ye who enter... etc.
    • Prim is the creating force that washed away long ago, taking with it all manner of unclean spirits and entities that do not belong in the world we know. although a few managed to avoid being swept away by the Prim (i.e. Mia, daughter of none). i think of the Prim as the tool used by Gan to create... and perhaps to destroy... (non-sequitor... I imagine Pennywise as an entity that avoided the Prim separating it from the world and escaped from Discordia to Derry)
    • the Turtle is the reason the world exists. the world itself might have been destroyed by the receding Prim had the Turtle's shell not been there to support it.. on his shell sits the Tower?

these are all more abstract in my mind than I can relay to words, and my understanding might be flawed because I'm only starting DT7.

to enhance my understanding I'll probably ultimately resolve to the Concordance... but i would certainly welcome the thoughts of others here
