Thumbs up duma key needs to be a movie!

Duma Key MUST be made into a movie!!! I feel certain that it would surpass Jaws hands- down as the best movie in my world! It would require brilliant screenwriters to be able to portray all that is within Stephen's masterpiece. Great thought would have to be given as to whom should be cast as the major characters. Inappropriate casting would be a disaster! Mr. King, himself, could make the right choices, undoubtedly! Welcome to the world of film directing, Stephen King!

You know, when I finished it, I did think to myself that it would make a great movie. Some of SKs books don't translate well because there is so much internal action going on that it is impossible to catch all of it onscreen, like Dreamcatcher or Gerald's Game. But Duma, other than just being a great story (come on, a haunted arm?!?!) doesn't have all of that internal dialogue.

Well, I thought it had a fair amount of internal dialogue. I mean, all he does when he's painting is think to himself (That is, when he's not in his furies). Still, you are right that this would make a better movie that Gerald's Game. Especially the ending. To me it seemed like a movie ending more then a book ending.

Well, it is an SK book, which means that there will be crucial internal dialogue. But in some cases, the story without the internal dialogue isn't strong enough to make a quality movie from, IMO. Sorry, Uncle Stevie! A majority of the internal dialogue in DK are memories, which can easily be translated onscreen, or ideas that could be easily inferred, like Edgar wondering if he is crazy.

A lot of the internal dialogue can easily be Eddie talking to himself. He does it a lot in the book anyway.

Who would be good picks for Edgar and Wireman? For some reason Ed Harris popped up in my mind for Edgar. Wireman Im not so sure. Maybe Benicio Del Toro.

feel like this could end up being "bag of bones II" i was so disappointed with that show. i'm afraid if it would get into the wrong hands, they'd ruin duma key for the big screen.
