Default I absolutely loved this book...

i thought this book was amazing! i just read it for a book report at school (in in 8th grade) and finished it in less than 3 days! after i finished reading it i begged my parents to rent the movie to watch...so we saw it and the whole family loved it! i think the movie was a great reflection of the book, although they did change how the cop died...anyways, i loved the book, i loved the movie! they were both great

It certainly IS one of the best adaptations IMHO...and Ms. Bates just chews it up!

The casting was fantastic.Kathy Bates just oozes that characterisation which initially has you potentially feeling a bit sorry for her as one of life's misunderstood (!) then you see her true obsessive, maniacal self come to the fore.
After watching the movie many, many times and devouring the book too (always read before you watch) I still cannot help but hide behind my fingers when she gets that sledgehammer out !!!!!

I will add that I was kind of talking out of my ... in the last post because it has been a few years since I read the book so I couldn't provide specific examples of what I mean, but that is what I recall.
At the moment I am reading Hearts in Atlantis and want to talk about it, but I don't think I should read the thread on it until I've finished the last two stories.

Even Stephen King loved Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes, so I don't know how anyone couldn't.

Kathy Bates was perfectly cast as Annie...When I read the book now I can't imagine anyone else playing that part

I find I love Kathy Bates no matter what she plays in. But Misery just always comes to mind when Kathy Bates is mentioned.

The great thing about Kathy Bates is that she could have been type cast to that persona, but because of her fantastic versatility people saw that she can act anything
I've said it countless times before but one more won't hurt... Kathy Bates is AMAZING!!

    Yeah, that´s true.
Watching Kathy Bates in the different Movies is like watching totally different personalities.
Just compare Annie to Dolores...great, just great. She´s a brilliant actress.
