reREADING THIS ONE AND IT IS BETTER THE SECND TIME AROUND!
On a re read I always find details I have missed. Or have several light bulb moments of " how could I have missed that". Sai King does a lot of foreshadowing.
I'm getting ready to "hit the beach" again soon and see what I zoomed over the first time...
I adore this book as well. I quickly developed an attachment to Edgar and Wireman.
I always learn more the second time around. If I really enjoy I may read several times until Iam not getting anything new out of it.
I read Duma Key when it first came out and I am rereading it now. It is so fascinating. Like the first time I can't put it down. It's like I am drawn into the time and place and sometimes I have to put it down for a few minutes to remind myself where I really am. I love it when I am absorbed by a book.
You have to try it on audio too. It really is sooo much better than reading it. You won't regret it. The actor (John Slattery) that reads it is AWESOME with the different voices. It is totally different than reading it. I heard tons of stuff I missed reading it. I think I've listened to it 10 times at leastJust FYI
Right! I have read this book and have listened to the audiobook about ten times!
I just finished DK for the second time. This time I read it slower (every word, no skimming) and understood it much better. I think the first time I read it to fast because I wanted to see what happens and I didn't understand the stuff with Perse. I think in a year or more I will reread it again. I just love Duma Key.
