Worst Novel Of The Bunch

The only two that never amaze me were Cell and Christine. Insomnia is among my favorites. Gerald's Game to me was well worth the read. I found the "Villain" to be very effective for some reason. Lisey's Story was a great novel that was marred by over writing, but still worth it. Though I only bought it for 4 bucks so...

I really didn't like The Tommyknockers at all. Dreamcatcher either. Can't even explain why...just not my flavor I guess.

I thought Cell was fantastic, one of his best books IMO. I liked Geralds Game as well. I thought From A Buick 8 was good, but not good enough that I ever wanted to read it again.

insomnia & tommyknockers far outdistance any of the others as being sub par: just did not relly care for either.

dreamcatchers was about a 50/50 split

i quite liked cell, liseys story and geralds game: i consider them to be all very good reads.

in fact (he says heretically (& repeatedly)) i'd put the last three d.t. books there well before any of those three, if i were to compile such a list

good thing i didn't, right ?

Tommyknockers, definitely. That book was way too bloated and moved at a glacial pace. I read that book strait for twelve hours on the way to St. Pete Florida and the story had hardly gotten anywhere (and I read fast) The story and characters were great, it was just all the extra crap (such as the snail-like scene at the party) that puts the book on the bottom of my list.

Well, I didn't see this before, but I've read all those except From a Buick 8. I'd have to say Gerald's Game is the one I enjoyed least of the ones I've read, yet I still enjoyed it.

I think you have to have experienced a 30 year marriage to really "get" Lisey.

From a Buick 8, Dreamcatcher, Lisey's Story are all at the bottom of the barrel for me. I actually liked The Tommyknockers and I know I'm among the few. I loved Insomnia. I thought Gerald's Game was not so great, but not too bad. Haven't read Cell so I can't say how I feel about it.

I love Gerald's Game and Cell.

I remember being bored by The Tommyknockers when it was first released, but I may have to give it another chance.

Dreamcatcher, Lisey's Story,and Insomnia are 3 of the 4 SK books I started but never finished (the 4th being The Talisman). I am currently re-reading Lisey's Story straight to the end. Next up: Dreamcatcher!
