    Default Film or book?

    Hi

Just received a dvd of dark half from Lovefilm. This would be the first time watching a SK story before reading it - am in two minds as to what to do.

Advice welcome - would you read the book before watching the film or does it not matter?

    Many thanks

    Mark

In most cases I would say read the book. This book in particular is a lot better than the movie so why spoil the book's surprises by watching an average movie?

In most cases I always find the book more enjoyable. I have read, but not seen the dvd of Dark Half, so can not compare.

Definitely, I'd say, read the book first. It's such a good story, the film isn't bad but I think it will hinder your enjoyment as you will know what to expect and won't be driven by the plot in Stephen King's hands, which for me as got to be the best way to enjoy it. Then, watch the movie, definitely, I actually really quite liked it.

The Stephen King movie superior to the book is yet to exist.

GNTLGT - I think you need to be less ambigous with your advice and get off the fence!

A bit of an irrelevant post now, but I just thought I'd say ALWAYS read the book first. It was a great read... However, the movie wasn't bad either

Reads the book the film is tame and not even worth your time. The book reigns supreme in this case.
