    Default I don't get it

Well I finished The Talisman and absolutely loved it so I thought the most logical thing to do would be to move on to Black House next. I probably got about 50 pages in and I just don't get it. Is the story being told in first person and if so who is it? I find it very hard to follow. Help please

    Hi

Yes, Black House appears inpenetrable for about the first hundred pages (IMO) but stick with it and it'll grab you soon.

    Honest!

Think of the narrator as a steadicam shot giving you information you should be aware of (but not ALL the information). Let the images carry you. Trust the story.

Just keep reading. Much will become clear and it is a good read.

Stick with it luv...there are some truly great characters in this one-not the least of which is Henry Leyden...a personal favorite with my lifetime involvement in radio...

I thought the same thing jellybean...I think I even skipped ahead, when I first read it, to see if the book changed from narrative description to actual story. It does get better

If I had read "Black House" directly after 'Talisman,' I'd have been disappointed.

I read it many years and several readings after the first great book, and now all I remember is the "tub scene." (not to be confused with Tubgirl!)

Although I really want to go back and read the beginning, I'm going to wait and try to live long enough to read #3.

    What the heck is "Tubgirl?"
I have a feeling I may regret asking this.

I had a friend tell me the other day that to truly understand Black House I should read the DT series first because of the many connections. Is this the case?

Oh, you will SO not be disappointed in Black House. Keep at it. The "narrator" is a wonderful double question mark: Who is it? And is this an entity with malicious intent? Is it someone who's able to flip back and forth between the Territories and This World?

Henry Leyden might just turn out to be one of your favorite SK characters of all time, too. :-)
