Anybody here ever read Rage?

Has any member of this site ever read Rage? If you acquired it after King requested all printings to cease, where in the world did you find it?




During arguments and debates, I've always defended King's decision regarding Rage. As much as I may want to read it, I can wholeheartedly understand and cope with the reason why Stephen King would want this book to never be read. As much as I support Freedom of Press, if an author doesn't want his book to see the light of day - especially for a reason so grand as with Rage - than I would not dream of hindering him and I believe him to be within his rights to make that decision.

Any of the copies that had been printed before he decided not to allow future printings are still available on the secondary market.

Yes, I have read Rage- in The Bachman Books.

Yep, I read it...and anyone that would be so enthralled by a book as to go act it out in a violent fashion, has issues that existed long before the first page was turned-and it's not a defensible excuse to blame/kill the messenger...

Plenty of copies of the Bachman Books available on the secondary market, definitely worth a read, but I think it's very much the work of a much younger writer.

I've also read it in The Bachman Books. One other point nobody ever mentions: there are only two people getting killed in Rage. Hardly a massacre, especially when compared to truly disturbing stuff like the torture-murders committed by the cop in Rose Madder (don't remember his name).

You can sometimes find the Bachman Books at yard sales with the rage in it,as lots of people have no clue.LOL

So, I've bid on a copy of the Bachman books on eBay. It looks like an intriguing story and, if I win in, I may have the distinction of being the only King fan I know to have ever so much as seen a copy. I anxiously await the completion of the auction.
