I am not too far into this novel but it feels like a gift. I think this may be the most powerful thing he has written!!

I was once on top of every King publication, but have fallen behind in my reading. Having just just picked up Lisey"s Story yesterday, I am reminded of how much I love Mr King's...voice. Within less than 50 pages I felt my heart pound in my chest (even knowing the outcome of the scene!), tears come to my eyes, a terrible need to pee (probably not Mr. King's fault), and a mixture of of dread and longing that seemed so out of proportion to the words I was reading that I went back and re-read certain passages. For the curios of heart, I'm only on page 170. Stephen King, I forgive you for Cell and look forward to coming up to speed with the other works of yours that I've missed over the years.

Highly praised:
The beauty of this book is in it's UNFOLDING. Really, really nice use of time-travel on this one. You get to slide forward and back and learn just what you need to learn when you want to know. It pull's you along like the 'Lost' TV series did, exploring the humanity and the precious moments along the way. It leaves you with the assurance that it's all ok, no matter how bad it gets along the way.
I'd be willing to reccommend this to readers of any novel genre, it is a great work; among Stephen King's very best. And I don't say that about everything the dude writes, and I've read about 85% of it that is published to date.
IMHO.
It IS a wonderful story, but I know for me-it took several readings before I got the emotional depth of it...
I have read and reread this book many many times and fall in love with it more each time. I think the only recent book I love more is Duma Key. I lose myself in this book.
Lisey's Story was one book I couldn't put down! In fact just reading this thread has me yearning to re-read it...Three books I must have on my shelf ( and could read a 100x) are Just After Sunset, Lisey's Story and Duma Key ( Lisey's story is the only one I haven't read twice..have to fix that LOL)
I have to pull this out and re-read it for sure. It's been awhile so I don't remember a whole lot about it per se, but what I do remember was the feeling it left me with. I think that if a book leaves you with the memory of an emotion long after the details have been forgotten, it is a true work of art and that is what Lisey's Story is. By far one of, if not THE best book he's written.
Im about halfway in the book and am really enjoying it so far but i also find it extremely confusing and frustrating so it takes a looooooooong time to read
