Default Just Finished "The Dark Half"

I wasn't super excited to read this, but I had it with me on a road trip & was able to blast through it in a couple days.

I thought it was great! I loved Stark, I loved Liz and I loved the way the twins were written.

I kind of called the end, but loved the way it all played out.

question: If Thad ever had the urge to write as Stark again would he come back?

Oh, I think Stark can't wait to return, if possible, and I think we're left with that possibility. We know part of Thad liked Stark.

Thad shot himself shortly thereafter. It's mentioned in Needful Things, I believe.

Yeah - I just finished this one. Beautifully written, but not as good as King's earlier stuff in my opinion.

In the multi-verses of "Kingworld", any scenario is possible...

For the most part, I thought this book was great. It was a little different from other King books I have read. George Stark was an unbelievable character. Despite his lunatic ways, I actually felt sorry for him a couple of times.

I agree with mrblonde - The Dark Half wasnt a super exciting read at first. But that seems to be the thing about Stephen King - his novels grow on you.

I too loved this one, (as with all of his works)
The character detail was so rich and I just couldn't help but sympathize with Mr. Stark at times.
The story is still imprinted clearly on my mind, even though it's been a a little while since I have read it.

This is in my top 3 probably; it seemed so bleak and dark- when I read it I imagined the entire thing was set at night for some reason but it seemed to be effective. Would love to see some of the George Stark novels actually written.
