I never really thought too much of Lisey's Story after I finished it. It just wasn't my cup of tea. It was, I think, too much of a love story for me (I can't get into them for whatever reason). All of the other stuff, the more interesting stuff to me, fell by the wayside.

About a week ago one of my family members was talking about a "Michigan basement" (dirt floor, severely unfinished, that's what we call them here anyway) and it made me think of Scott's brother's possession. It took me FOREVER to figure out what that scene was from. I didn't even connect it with a King book right away. All I could see was a kid chained to a pole in the middle of the room and snoring like a monster .

Once I figured out it was Lisey's Story I realized that there was WAY more to the story than just the sappy love story crap (and I mean that in the best way). Now I plan on giving it another read where as before I never would have thought of picking it up again.

So to answer your question, I would have told you a couple weeks ago that I didn't see it as much more than a love story. Now however I would tell you that it is both. I mean, if there is enough bad-gunky stuff going on to make me want to re-read it it definitely isn't all love story!
