Semi-Finalists

I was disappointed no one submitted a photo of King's Dominion in VA. I live too far away and thought there would be a dozen of those submitted.

thought i saw a gigantic photo from the kings island parking lot go by at one point. maybe it wasn't a finalist, but i recognized the home of the red & blue racers, where i rode both of those rickety bullets when i was 9 or 10. good times!

as for the rest of us...fun is fun, and done is done. have seen a few sour grapes posts and can only reply with this - my fantasy baseball team went on a 3-week losing streak after i got into this contest - i was trying to win as a) the only female in my league & b) with no yankees allowed!!! but it was worth every minute & well, i didn't win either but loved seeing the empire in my day to day. hope everyone enjoyed the ride!

p.s. if there's ever a consolation round, i prefer paperbacks ;-)

I just lost my message, so I'll try again. I hope it doesn't come through twice though.

I just found out I won for the stash em picture, and I am soooo excited! I apologize for not checking back sooner but I never thought I'd win because there are so many great entries. But I wanted to say a huge thank you to Steve and Ms. Mod, and all web masters and assistants. I've been a fan for well over 20 years, and began reading (adult books) because of The Shining. I still love all of Steve's books, as you all do. But to engage everyone like this in such a fun competition is really cool-it just shows how much he cares about his fans. No wonder he gets it back tenfold. Thank you Steve, so much. Thank you.

Also, please don't think I only came here for the competition. I originally posted under the name of Tahoe, but couldn't remember my password so rejoined under Cosmo, my parrot's name. I posted because when I was 15 I wrote to Mr. King himself, and he wrote me back! I wanted to share that with everyone because he was so kind to me. But I used to belong to another message board and found it very consuming and sometimes a bit nasty, so I backed off. I'm trying to get my own writing done and I get so easily distracted . . . but someone mentioned that we only joined for that and I felt bad.

So, thank you again so much Steve. And also, a HUGE thank you for your book on writing. It's like my bible; you have no idea how helpful it has been. But this one I will keep my book on my desk for inspiration.
