    Default Beautiful...*spoilers*

So, after failing to be able to jump into Black House many years ago, before even realizing that i should *probably* read The Talisman first,....i finally read The Talisman. All i can say is...beautiful. The way the Talisman itself is described is astounding. The minor characters have so much depth....i was heart sick when Wolf died.....i actually felt Jack's pain, lol. So now i am trying to jump back into Black House....so far so good.....

I am glad you enjoyed it! It is one of my favorites if not my favorite ever. I agree, it is beautiful and very touching. I hope you enjoy Black House. Here's hoping they are still going to do the third book someday!

I just finished The Talisman yesterday. It took me quite a few tries to get into it but once I did I couldn't put it down. It was a beautifully written book and the characters were very well developed. I loved Wolf but had a hard time warming up to Richard. I am hesitant to read Black House because I am worried that I won't enjoy it as much as The Talisman.

    Happy Reading!

No doubt that Talisman is one of my Top 5 faves-Black House isn't quite as good-but it sure ain't drek either...hope the third novel puts payed to any lingering questions-and I guess I'll have to line em up and read em end to end(Oh, the horror!)...

This is it! Thanks to MsMod for guiding me!! (I 've had a stroke after reading Talisman among many SK books, and as a result I lost many memories-and Talisman was one of them-alas! But at least its here although I do have a few nagging memories...like a tiny lisping voice crying out"feeshing feef!" to suddenly wake me in the middle of the night and cause me to wonder where did that come from??-ha. Sometimes I pick up an old object and wonder...I know what this is HERE, but question is what is it OVER THERE?? (ok- I made that one up, but you get the point lol) All things serve the Beam...

So many comments here mention that they had trouble with the book until Jack starts on his journey. I didn't have that problem with The Talisman, but I did have it with Duma Key - I think for the same reason. It just didn't feel like it was going somewhere (so glad SK and PS knew differently). Did anyone else experience the same thing with Duma Key?
