At the end, where they are in the grove, if trees make oxygen and the trees weren't dead, why didn't they have more air- why didn't they go hug some trees?

There was a big fire and a lot of smoke that was trapped inside by the dome.

Tree only produce a small amount of oxygen compared to the large amounts of CO2 that would have been produced by the epic explosion. not to mention the overall poor quality of the air in the Dome anyway. Still I like the tree hugging idea! It's like an extreme parody of the whole greenhouse gases effect on steroids. we should all learn a lesson and be more green, hug more trees and drive hybrids!?

if i remember correctly, the trees were dying and with no fresh air and filtered sunlight, the photosynthesis could'nt happen, thus, no oxygen. my theory anyway.
