Default Is this book worth getting?

    http://www.cemeterydance.com/sh/wood02.html

I found a book of Stephen King Non-Fiction at the website linked above and was wondering if anyone had or had read this book.

I already have Secret Gardens, On Writing, & Danse Macabre.

    It is a bit pricey...

    Thanks.

Then you already know his non-fiction is darn near as entertaining as his fiction(and in some cases more so)...don't let the dollar sign dictate-choose with your heart...

I agree. I just bought Under the Dome today. The only paperback copy they had was 20 bucks, but this a King novel and I was getting it. The had Blockade Billy, also, but after getting Under the Dome and Just after Sunset, I could afford no more.

So, I could not resist and bought this book. I actually found it for over $20 cheaper on Amazon, still brand new.

One warning - this book does not contain the actual works of non-fiction detailed in the description of the book on the Cemetery Dance site, but instead is basically a very long and detailed list of all of King's non-fiction. Initially I was VERY disappointed by this, as the site is pretty vague about this.

Upon reviewing the book, however, I still find it to be of value. There are tips for tracking down the actual pieces described and many many quotes. Overall, this is a pretty cool book, though even at 53 bucks it still a tad overpriced.

Sorry to hear that. Caveat Emptor. It is REALLY hard to prioritize with so many novels, limited editions, comics, bound comics,Signed Limited Editions, Author Read Audio Books, E-books, the movies, and the now ELUSIVE "The Plant" out there. I try to cover ALL the bases and I sometimes get myself into trouble financially. Well although the book is not what you thought -it is a collector's item and I bet you got "something interesting" out of it. As long as I can "stay afloat" I will continue to buy Stephen King's works ,I just love the thought- like feel of the writing. P.S. regarding Robin Furth- she put together a great concordance for "The Dark Tower",but I have to remember that she is not Stephen King. Anyone else have this issue?E. Freemantle

    Hi,

No, but I have the original 2 volume set personally signed to me by Robin herself when we all had dinner in London.

    (One of my proudest possessions!).

And I much recommend the Concordance to everyone interested in anything DT-ish!

Long days and pleasant nights (That's exactly how she signed volume 2!)

I have the other book that Rocky Wood wrote regarding Stephen Kings unpublished works. I thought it was really interesting stuff. I never realized that there were so many other things that had never seen the light of day.

John ,I'm hooked too .I have two signed copies of the" Limited Edition" of "The Complete Concordance " signed by Robin Furth- I bought one from Cemetery
Dance, and then I received a second because I was in the Cemetery Dance Book Club. I cannot say that the book is not beautiful, highly informative, clarifying, and wonderfully illustrated and slipcased. I was just questioning some unusual changes that I have seen in "The Stand" comics, and in "The Dark Tower" comics as well. You know I collect them, as a King fan,and an artist -I cannot resist. It is just that finances are limited eventually and then a new Stephen King Limited edition comes out ,and then I question the "changes" in storyline in "The King Comics" adaptations. I know the Buddhists say "It is nice to want". I guess i just want to read from the mind of Stephen King when I purchase a book with his name on it. Just got to be more discerning, limited income. P.S. I own the two volumes in trade paperback from 02-03 by Robin Furth too. I cannot help it . i am a DarkTower/Stephen King Constant Reader and you might say Compulsive Collector. I guess i should just enjoy what Robin Furth has collaborated on -and stop griping. Glad you had that great London Experience-pretty magical. Long Days and Pleasant Nights, John . Thanks for being so kind and helpful since I began here. I get it now.Sometime huge projects need a gifted fan/writer like Robin Furth. No one could have done better than Robin Furth- Sai King says -so many times-I believe, too .E.Freemantle

I have that book too. I believe it is worth it for what I believe is chapter 27, of that unpublished novel, and the quotes and synopsis of "The Plant:Zenith Rising".
Yes I believe that book was well worth it and I paid for a author's signed slipcased version $149.00. It was from a smoke free house and perfect. It is also well chaptered and easy to find what you are looking for. Lots of great snippets and short story length material straight from "the Mind of Stephen King." I believe we made a good choice here. Hold on unless something else is in jeopardy…. that is what I do. I am a Collector- not a Book Investor. The books I have amassed mean much more to me than money. They are companions, and then old friends. Long Days and Pleasant Nights Sai Tinahorve. E.Freemantle
